What to Expect
The Rochester Bored Humans Association Discord is a diverse community where people come from different backgrounds, have conflicting ideologies, and most importantly have valid opinions and expressions that are heard by others.
At the end of the day, we recognize everyone is human and that we can accept differences while still maintaining the friendships we made.
Engagement
The Rochester Bored Humans Association owes its success to the activity of its members through the conversations they create and participate in. Each and every member is empowered to create the activities they want to do and the conversations they want to have; if you're feeling particularly social join one of the member created meetups.
Meetups
These are activities that a member on the server is organizing. Meetups can range from a group to attend a trivia night at a local brewery to events sponsored by the city. Meetups don't have to be for public events either, they can be for privately organized events too. Maybe a member has trail they want to hike with their dog and would like to invite others along, or perhaps a member wants to host a bonfire in their backyard.
Meetups put the responsibility in the hands of members to create the events and activities they want to participate in. Each meetup has an RSVP system so the host (and others) can get a good idea of who is going, and who is interested.
A lot of our meetups are in-person but we also have virtual meetups too, from virtual happy hour to free online party games. We are member driven, if you don't see a meetup for something you want to attend or do with others... Create it!
Events
These are posts shared by members and other community partners that are various things to do which are happening around the Rochester area. Events are not organized by any particular Discord member and are shared as a notice for everyone; members are more than welcome to create meetups based on Events they want to go to as group or they can go on their own.
